Shania Ramsay
Graduating in occupational therapy from the University of Laval, I chose this profession because it combines science with human engagement. My role is to assess the challenges related to injuries or loss of autonomy and apply tailored strategies to optimize recovery. My clinical expertise lies with clients who have undergone hand surgery. I am also an instructor and lecturer at the University of Laval for the occupational therapy program. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Hand Therapy Certification (CHT), which allows me to deepen my expertise and provide specialized care to my clients.
An informed patient becomes a key player in their rehabilitation. By explaining the reasons behind each intervention and actively involving them in their recovery process, I foster their engagement and progression towards optimal autonomy.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through running, gym training, and fitness. I also appreciate more creative hobbies such as sewing, reading, and cooking, which allow me to relax and express my creativity.
My philosophy is reflected in my favorite quote: “What we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean.”
