Insurers and employers

At Dextérité, we provide specialized care to support the return-to-work process, physical rehabilitation, and functional independence of your insured individuals or employees. Through our interdisciplinary approach and targeted assessments, we contribute to effective, sustainable, and safe reintegration pathways.

Workplace assessment and adaptation
Whether preventive or aimed at ensuring sustainable professional reintegration, the ergonomic assessment of a workstation is an integral part of the continuum of services offered by our occupational therapists. It allows for the issuance of general and specific recommendations to adapt the workstation based on the identified issue. If necessary, a detailed job analysis can be conducted to assess the physical demands of the job and suggest modifications or adaptations based on the worker’s capacity. It also helps clarify the possibility of returning to work in cases of doubt when functional limitations are present.
Assessment of rehabilitation potential
This is an assessment conducted by occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and kinesiology professionals to objectively evaluate physical abilities and limitations, psychosocial factors, as well as factors that may be favorable or unfavorable to rehabilitation. The goal is to determine whether the individual can benefit from rehabilitation services and to specify the nature of these services.
Functional capacity assessment
This is a comprehensive assessment conducted by occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and kinesiology professionals that objectively evaluates physical abilities and limitations, such as strength, muscular endurance, overall physical condition, tolerance to movement and sustained activities, manual dexterity, and lifting capacity, while considering psychosocial factors. The conclusion of this assessment provides recommendations regarding the individual’s ability to return to work or daily activities. It also helps define the direction for rehabilitation.
Functional and work rehabilitation
We offer a personalized functional rehabilitation program when the resumption of general activities or work is limited due to deconditioning and ongoing difficulties. The care is provided over a period of several weeks by a team consisting of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, kinesiologist, and psychologist if needed. Services typically include interdisciplinary assessment, workplace analysis if applicable, and the development of an intervention plan.
Prosthetic rehabilitation

For amputee clients, the use of a prosthesis can be an integral part of the rehabilitation process. Whether for aesthetic or functional purposes, this prosthetic fitting involves several steps, including pain management, edema and wound healing, training in overall movement with the prosthesis, specific control of the prosthesis, training in common functional activities, and ultimately, training for work and leisure activities.

The prosthetic rehabilitation program therefore aims for the successful integration of the prosthesis in order to optimize hand function despite the amputation.

Our team, consisting of a physiatrist, prosthetists, physiotherapist, and occupational therapists, will do everything possible to guide you through this complex process.

Dominance transfer
In the case of significant and permanent impairment of the dominant hand, it is possible to develop the functional capabilities of the non-dominant hand to facilitate and enable the performance of precision activities, such as writing. The care is provided by an occupational therapist. Daily sessions over several weeks include teaching and advice, gross motor and fine motor exercises, as well as targeted functional activities.
Assistive device needs

An assistive device is a product or equipment designed to facilitate or even enable the performance of an activity in situations of disability. Whether in the clinic or at home, this evaluation is carried out by an occupational therapist who first assesses the physical and functional abilities before proposing various solutions to improve the individual’s autonomy and safety. Specializing exclusively in hand and arm-related issues, our occupational therapists have in-depth knowledge of the adaptations and assistive devices available for these specific conditions.

Home care needs
Once the rehabilitation process is completed, significant functional difficulties may still persist. In such cases, assistance may be available for carrying out personal and domestic activities, depending on your insurance coverage. Our occupational therapists can visit your home, assess your functional status, and recommend the level of assistance required.
Training, conferences, and coaching in the workplace
Our experts visit businesses directly to offer dynamic conferences and personalized coaching. Whether it’s to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, optimize workstation ergonomics, or support workplace well-being, we tailor our approach to the specific needs of your team. Provide your employees with practical tools to promote health, performance, and retention.
